Children’s Health Specialty Center Dallas Campus modernized three parking garages with camera-based guidance and license plate recognition at every space — 990 SC Indoor sensors monitoring 3,314 spaces with 99.7% verified detection accuracy.
Children’s Health Specialty Center Dallas Campus is a 500-bed facility whose onsite parking spans three garages, 19 levels and 3,314 spaces. Before the redesign, visitors arriving by car had to use the valet lot in front of the main entrance. The campus needed a parking guidance system that made it easy for patients, visitors and employees to find available parking, plus license plate recognition at entries and exits to speed up the payment process.
Working with NextGen Parking, Quercus Technologies installed 990 SC Indoor camera-based parking sensors monitoring all 3,314 spaces. A post-installation performance test confirmed the sensors detect cars at an exceptionally high rate of 99.7%. SmartLPR Access cameras manage arrivals and departures at each garage — including two units capturing vehicles on the garage rooftops — while dynamic LED signage on ramps and decision points directs customers to levels and areas with real-time availability.
The sensors also designate and reserve spaces for specific user groups — handicapped, employee, visitor, pregnant — and link every recorded event to a license plate, guarding against robberies, assaults and false damage claims. Through the parking management software, operators analyze and act on this data in real time: streamlining operations, tightening operational control and expanding surveillance across the entire medical campus.
