Home2 Suites by Hilton Montreal Dorval guides guests straight to free bays across two tight underground levels — with availability displayed outside before drivers even enter.
Home2 Suites by Hilton Montreal Dorval, built in 2018 on Montreal’s West Island, has two floors of underground parking with 51 bays in total. Space is limited for U-turns underground, so ownership needed a clever system that would lead guests directly to empty spaces — and display availability outside, so drivers with no chance of finding a free bay park directly in the outdoor area instead of circling below.
Quercus designed the guidance solution specifically for this constraint. Twenty SC Indoor ID camera-based parking sensors facilitate the parking process: customized LED lights in different colors identify free, occupied and special spaces (VIP, disabled…), while built-in license plate recognition and motion-triggered video recording monitor every bay automatically, keeping guests and their property safe. Guidance prioritizes first-floor spaces to avoid time losses and difficult maneuvers.
Three parking LED displays — two outside, one inside — show counts in real time, so clients know before entering whether a space awaits underground. BirdWatch, the parking management software, identifies arrivals, parking durations and any event around each bay, and organizes it all into filterable reports — heat-maps, bar charts, frequency statistics — offering the hotel a global vision of usage patterns for efficient, informed management of a small but demanding facility.
